Australian vocalist (b. Sydney March, 1930 - From a musical family and surrounded by music all her life, Betty made her first stage appearance aged 5 when she sang with Uncle Tom's Gang on Radio 2SM. After singing with local bands for a while, Betty was hired by Frank Coughlan for his Trocadero band in 1947. After six months she joined Bela Kanitz, and early in 1949 went to Melbourne to work for Sammy Lee. Back in Sydney in 1950 rejoined Frank Coughlan at the Troc, and then to the Stork Club with Frank Marcy's band (married Marcy in 1951). Continued local engagements, and when Joan Wilton left for England Betty replaced her on the "ABC Hit Parade" broadcasts. Recorded with Red perky for Pacific in 1954. On Bobby Limb 's "Sound of Music" for 9 years.
