W.V. Grant, Jr.

Traveling preacher and televangelist. Son of Rev. W. V. Grant Sr. and Mrs. W.V. Grant. Pastor of Soul's Harbor, 515 Main Street, Toledo, Ohio (1972-73) then Cathedral of Compassion, in Cincinnati. (First at corner of 15th and Race Streets downtown later at 4800 Vine Street in the St. Bernard section). Took over Soul's Harbor Church in hometown of Dallas,1983. Moved it to new location near Dallas Baptist University and renamed it Eagle's Nest Family Church in 1987. Convicted of federal tax evasion in 1996. Transferred ownership of the church at that time to fellow televangelist Bishop T. D. Jakes Sr. who still operates it today under the name The Potter's House. His wife Brenda Gayle Grant (neé Hayes) was acquitted of her own tax charges. Grant resumed preaching with a new church in.Dallas, also called Eagle's Nest, upon release from prison in 1997. His wife Brenda died in 2020.
