Swedish conductor, composer, arranger and music researcher, born on December 20, 1974 in Täby. He is educated at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, the Academy of Music in Örebro and the Academy of Music in Piteå. He has studied with, among others, Gustaf Sjökvist, Matti Hyökki, Eric Ericson, Eri Klas, Jorma Panula, Hans Kyhle, Jan Sandström and Anders Flodin. Lundblad has worked with several leading ensembles, such as the Dalasinfonietta, Uppsala Chamber Orchestra, Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Jönköping Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Opera Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and Gothenburg Wind Orchestra. He has also conducted several choirs such as: Täby church choir, Södertälje chamber choir, YMCA choir in Stockholm, KFUM Ursus Kammarkör, Borlänge kammarkör and Kongl. Teknologkören. In the years 2004–2009 he was choirmaster at the Gothenburg Opera, and since 2011 he has been choirmaster for the choir of the Dalasinfoniettan. He is also the conductor and artistic director of the Falu Kammarkör. Since 2015, David Lundblad has been employed as house conductor for Dalasinfonietta. On November 29, 2019, David Lundblad's doctoral degree was reviewed and approved at the University of the Arts' Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. The title of the artistic doctoral degree was: Swedish choir. A vocal perspective from the 19th century to the present. The degree included five concerts and a thesis with the title: Swedish choral sound. Historical, phonetic and pedagogical aspects.
