Samora Machel

Samora Moisés Machel, born September 29, 1933 in Madragoa (now Chilembene) in Mozambique and died October 19, 1986 in Mbuzini in South Africa, is a Mozambican politician, member of Frelimo and first president of the independent People's Republic of Mozambique between 1975 and 1986. He is considered the father of Mozambique's independence.
