C.M. (Shorty) Bradford

American Gospel singer and bandleader. Born November 27, 1915 Rising Fawn, Georgia. Died January 11, 1969 Rising Fawn, Georgia (54 years old). He was married to singer/songwriter Jean Wright Bradford and father of singer/songwriter Carolyn Bradford-Lane. He had four distinct voices and a five octave singing range. A prize of $500 was made as a standing offer on TV for five years to anyone who could sing a note higher and lower than Shorty could. He was never challenged for the money. He was half of "Lee Roy & Shorty" (aka "The Happy Two") with Lee Roy Abernathy.
