Steve Oliver (5)

Born: 1981, Manchester, UK. Steve works out of Rogue Studios, Manchester UK. He has exhibited widely, showing work across the UK, Europe and the United States. He came runner up in the 2019 Greater Manchester Contemporary Art prize. He teaches on the Visual Arts program at the University of Salford, and received his MA in Fine Art with distinction from Manchester Metropolitan University, 2015. Steve's work is an investigation of the structures that make photography and video ‘work’. His works are most often made in-computer, with material sourced from internet searches. Steve’s broad research interests embrace cinema, literary fiction and technological simulation. The work strives above all else to make an audience want to do the hard work of looking critically.
