The Hip-Hop Band Poets Of Peeze was the root of renown German HipHop Bands Fettes Brot and Fünf Sterne deluxe as well as the Electro House producers and DJs Moonbootica and CRAM. Founded 1989 near Hamburg, Germany, Tobias Schmidt (as Gubb, now Tobi Tobsen (Der Tobi & Das Bo/Fünf Sterne deluxe and one half of Moonbootica), his brother Mighty, Expand (later Dokter Renz with Fettes Brot) and Cram knocked English rhymes on Funk and Jazz inspired self-produced instrumentals. After gigs at various HipHop Jams across Germany (e.g. with Absolute Beginners, U-men and Such a Surge) they provided the songs "Better Dayz" and "Soul Vibration" for the "Soul of the City"-Acid Jazz Sampler, recorded in 1992 in the Chocolate City Studio of Ralf Droesemeyer (e.g. producer for Randy Crawford). This brought them in contact with Andre Luth of Yo Mama Records in Hamburg, where in 1993 their own EP "eloquent poetry" and further songs for "Soul of the City Vol.2" and "Yo Mama vs. the Cook-Moster" were released. In the meantime they met Björn (Schiffmeister) Warns und (König) Boris Lauterbach and founded 1992 the renowned German HipHop Band "Fettes Brot" with German lyrics. Due to difficulties with double bookings at gigs and two record contracts for both groups the six members decided to part in two separate groups: Poets of Peeze (with Tobi, Mighty and Cram) and Fettes Brot. While in 1994 Poets of Peeze ceased to exist because the members where living too far apart, Fettes Brot had their first smash hit with "Nordisch by Nature". Tobi met Mirko (Das Bo) Bogojevic in Hamburg and released the "Genie und Wahnsinn"-LP, the band later developed into "Fünf Sterne deluxe". Today, CRAM, Tobi (Moonbootica) and Mighty (Machia & Velli) are electronic music producers und DJs. In 2022 Mighty released his debut solo album "Discorsi" after a 19 years hiatus.
