Maurice & Noble’s ‘Hoochi Koochi’ has been one of the biggest underground dance anthems of the past year in clubs and festivals worldwide and has already been openly acknowledged as such: 'its definitely one of my biggest tunes of 2003' (Pete Tong, DJ mag: july 03). It racked up over 10 plays on Radio 1 by Sasha, Pete Tong and Seb Fontaine, the Essential New Tune accolade, prestigious No.1 Buzz chart and Capital club chart positions and No.2 in the Cool Cuts over the summer of 2003. At the turn of the millennium, Maurice broke onto the dance scene through DJ’ing and promoting his own club nights ‘Union’ at Space then Rehab in Leeds where he’s spun alongside some of the biggest names in dance including Sasha, John Digweed, Steve Lawler, Seb Fontaine and Darren Emerson. Maurice’s breakthrough production ‘Feline’ (Distinctive Records), was a driving prog-breaks tune featuring a monster breakdown using a recorded Violin loop. It rapidly went on to conquer the cooler dancefloors of the World. His DJ bookings have since gone through the roof, and have included a worldwide tour as support DJ for Moby & Hybrid. You may have also heard his music on the Grand Prix 2002, major televised boxing events or as a sound bed on Radio 1. Simon Noble has been producing up front dance music since the early nineties. He started as an engineer/programmer at Spirit Studios in Manchester, and Simon's skills as a writer as well as an engineer / programmer matured. During his time there, he was responsible for writing and producing on pioneering tracks such as ‘Don't Go’ by Awesome 3, ‘Take Me Away’ by Mix Factory and Void’s ‘No Stopping’. He went on to be the production driving force of the massively successful duo ‘Breeder’. Breeder went on to one of the biggest progressive house production teams of the past decade. Their rapid rise to fame resulted in several high-profile remix projects included Grace’s classic ‘It’s not over yet’, Brother Brown’s ‘Under the Water’ and Orbital’s ‘Nothing Left’. Simon teamed up with Maurice to collaborate as Maurice & Noble in 2002. Kicking off with their massive debut release Faith Delivers (Distinctive Records), they received support from leading DJs in the UK including Dave Seaman, Sasha, Tall Paul and Scott Bond. Their unique and successful sound has led to many high profile remixes including T’empo ‘Fouk’, Dreamcatcher’s ‘Twisted’, the huge yoshitoshi favorite Morel ‘Cabaret’ and their seminal remix of Canteen’s ‘Everyone Else’. Maurice & Noble’s various remixes and productions have featured on many leading dance compilations including Global Underground, Cream, Gatecrasher, Essential Selection, Lights Out, The Annual and Euphoria. Their sound crosses progressive, rock and house and is rapidly proving influential in driving the dance scene forward.
