Frank "Lil Daddy" Moliere (October 4, 1914 - April 17, 1984) was a celebrated jazz pianist and singer born in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. Growing up in a musical family, he displayed a natural aptitude for music from a young age. Moliere's musical journey began with self-taught piano playing, and he quickly established himself in New Orleans' lively jazz scene. His early gigs included performances at Maison Bourbon as part of a quintet. Throughout his career, he had the privilege of sharing the stage with jazz legends such as Isaiah Morgan, Kid Howard, Danny White, Smilin' Joe, Octave Crosby, Dave Oxley, George Lewis, and Dr. Michael White. His musical versatility allowed him to seamlessly transition between bands and solo piano performances at various clubs along the famous Bourbon Street in New Orleans. In the late 1940s, Moliere sought formal piano lessons at the Grunewald School of Music, which greatly contributed to his musical prowess. During the 1960s, he became a prominent member of the esteemed George Lewis Preservation Hall Band, frequently performing at the renowned Red Garter venue. Following this engagement, he continued to shine as a featured pianist at the same establishment. Frank Moliere's dedication to music and his enduring presence on Bourbon Street earned him a well-deserved place in the hearts of jazz enthusiasts. He passed away in his beloved city of New Orleans on April 17, 1984, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the vibrant tapestry of New Orleans jazz.
