Leila Megane

Welsh mezzo-soprano (1891-1960) Born in Bethesda in the old county of Caernarfon, and married T. Osborne Roberts (1879–1948), a composer. She sang on the world's biggest stages of Paris, Milan, Rome, New York, and London. On 11 October 1922 she made the first complete recording of Sea Pictures with composer Edward Elgar conducting, and on 12 November sang for the last time in Neuad y Dref, Pwllheli.
