Barbershop tenor vocalist, choral director, and musical arranger. Born on February 11, 1937 in Canton, Oklahoma. Dr. Kimball began his love of music in high school. He sang tenor with the Western Continentals and won the 1964 Far-Western District Championship with them that fall. He sang with them until being drafted for Vietnam in 1966. This was one of his four district champ quartets. The Western Continentals would later go on to win the SPEBSQSA International championship in 1968 with Al Mau on tenor. He directed both the men’s Centennial Chorus and the women’s Windsong Chorus. He arranged several pieces of barbershop music and many of his arrangements are still sang today. Dr. Kimball passed away on February 22, 2022 in Sterling, Colorado at the age of 85.
