Aldo y Daniel was an Uruguayan music duo made up of Aldo Fantauzzi and Daniel Olveira, active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Dedicated mainly to pop music, the duo began their activity in the late 1960s. A direct antecedent to their creation was the activity between 1965 and 1967 of the group "The Challengers", whose formation had been Olveira (voice and guitar ), Fantauzzi (2nd guitar and second voice), Álvaro Gastelú (drums), Jose María "Josema" Gurascier (bass) and César Jover (1st guitar). In 1969 they released a single with the RCA Victor label, in which they included the songs "Golondrina" and "La Lluvia Me Me Llorar". In 1970 they released another simple album in which they had the musical accompaniment of Julio Frade and which contained the songs "Limpio, puro" and "La niña en la distaca". Before the end of that year they released their third single album and their only full-length album entitled "Cantares delierto" this time for the Sondor label. In it, they are part of the popular singing movement that existed at that time with the words A short time later the duo would split up and Fantauzzi would continue his solo career with a repertoire that, unlike "Aldo and Daniel", had strong social criticism.
