Singer, guitarist, lyricist and composer. Born in Cortale (Catanzaro) February 18, 1929 In the early 1950s, he recorded for RCA rpm78, signing 'Mimmo del Sud' and sold 5,000 copies. In 1956 he took part in the Piedigrotta as author, by signing 'Io e Ciccio cha cha cha' and 'Castagnarella'. In 1957 he composed the soundtrack of Antonio Pietrangeli's 'Nata di marzo' and with Ettore De Mura wrote 'Maria Canaria'. The following year with 'Tuppe tuppe mariscia' who came second to the Festival of Naples. In the early 1960s he moved to America, sang at Carnegie Hall in New York and became an international chansonnier, inspired by the folk songs of Calabria native, the Neapolitan vibrate and some echoes of the French song.
