American pianist and composer (born 1907) Maltin's first hit, on which he collaborated with Ben Bernie, Kenneth Casey, and Ray Doll was "Afraid (Of Losing You)" (1925). In 1929, he collaborated on several tunes with Frank Marcus: "African Whoopee," "Dixie Vagabond," "Song Of Harlem," "Rub-A-Dub Your Rabbit's Foot," "Tampico Tune," and "The Way To Do Bamboola." That same year, he wrote "Finesse" (with Ray Doll). In 1931, Maltin wrote the music for "I'm Good For Nothing But Love" (with lyrics by Pat Ballard). In 1934, he collaborated with Harry Stride on the music for "Because Of Once Upon A Time" (lyrics by Joe Young (3). In 1935, he followed this with "Me And My Wonderful One" (with Richard B. Smith and Harry Stride). In 1936, he had a minor hit with "Don’t Count Your Kisses (Before You’re Kissed)" (with Harry Stride and Ralph Freed). In 1951, he wrote "Hangin' Around With You" (with Al Stillman and Ray Doll), a hit for Dean Martin.
