Barbershop bass vocalist from Los Angeles, CA. Born on October 7, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA. Mike grew up to be a very talented musician. He sang in many barbershop quartets in his life but his most notable one was the Golden Staters who won the SPEBSQSA international contest in Atlanta, GA in 1972. Mike was the music man, coach, and brains behind the Golden Staters and every quartet he sang in. Mike composed many pieces of music for the Golden Staters and for many other quartets. His most popular original chart was “It Must Be That Look In Her Eyes” which he wrote for his wife, Nancy. He had the ability to play a tune in his head without even using the piano keys and he would write his arrangements that way. Mike also directed a few choruses in his barbershop career. Mike died unexpectedly on May 7, 1979 at age 39 from a heart attack.
