Bolivian folk band. Was initially called Los Dos Caminantes and changed its name when it grew. They carry the name of LOS CAMINANTES and the truth is that they justify it because since the year 1965 when they joined the group, back in their native Bolivia, they have not stopped touring the world. There are three Walkers: Carlos Palenque, born in Tarija, Bolivia. He plays the charango, the guitar and is the second voice of the group. He studied Economic Sciences. Tito Peñarrieta, native of La Paz, Bolivia. He plays the kick drum and is the third voice of the group. He studied accounting. Pepe Murillo, born in Potosí, Bolivia. Notable guitarist and lead vocal. Certified Public Accountant. The ensemble was formed as a result of the First Latin American Folklore Festival in Salta, in 1965. In the previous selection, in La Paz, Palenque and Murillo presented separate ensembles and the coaches brought them together to form "Los Caminantes". In Salta (1965), the Bolivian delegation won the first prize and the joint Silver Medal. In 1966 the delegation repeated the triumph and "Los Caminantes" received the Gold Medal. Since then, apart from Bolivia, they have performed in Brazil (1966); Venezuela Bolivarian Song Festival obtaining first prize; Colombia and Ecuador (1967); United States, New York, other cities and various universities (1968). In November 1968, Peñarrieta entered, forming the current group.
