Werner Veigel

Werner Veigel was born on 9th November 1928 in Den Haag and died on 2nd May 1995 in Hamburg due to a cerebral tumor. He was a German newscaster from 1966 to 1987 on the German TV station ARD "Arbeitsgemeinschaft der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland" (Working Pool of the Broadcasting Corporations of the Federal Republic of Germany). From 1987 he was the anchor for the Tagesschau (a German newscast on ARD). He had to leave his position in January 1995 because of health problems.
