John Jacobsen started in the music business in 1965 when he was a member of The Esquires, one of the first rock groups from Springfield, Missouri to sign a recording contract with a major company. After a few years on the Dot label, The Esquires fell apart and Jacobson moved back to Springfield and opened Aard-Vark Studios at 335 S. Jefferson.
