Anthony Smith (13)

Pianist, keyboardist, vibraphonist and author, he has worked with many well-known artists in the world of jazz, and also pop, rock and a variety of other genres. He has been performing, arranging, composing and producing music professionally for many years. He also formed his own groups, notably La Vibra, a Latin jazz/rock ensemble; Cult of Soul with their album “Walking My Planet"; Myriad, a jazz quartet; Giant People (group recorded two albums, one live and one studio); Global Funk Council; Anthony Smith’s Trunk Fulla Funk; The Anthony Smith Vibraphone Quartet. He was the regular keyboardist for The Mighty Untouchables, one of San Diego’s premier variety pop/rock acts. Anthony is also a prolific composer and writer, having written and produced numerous albums, screenplays, stage plays, and a memoir titled “The Lizard Stays in the Cage,” published in 2013. He served for years on the jazz faculty at San Diego State University teaching vibraphone and piano performance. Smith also conducts small jazz ensembles.
