Little Jimmy And The Sharks

In 1963 Little Jimmy (2) encountered the Dutch indo-rock group The Sharks from Vlissingen when both they and his band Little Jimmy and the Robots played in Blankenberge. Soon The Sharks became his new backing band. In the new constellation the band moved away from their surf music to rawer beat/rock 'n' roll. They were quite successful and opened for acts like The Who, Small Faces and most notably The Rolling Stones. Throughout 1965 the band was on hiatus due to Marc Claeys's military service, which led to the band breaking up. However Claeys and Van Raalten continued with The Sharks up to 1968, eventually recording one single. In this period they remained a popular act, performing three days per week in a Ghent Club named after them.
