Margareta Strömstedt

Swedish author, journalist and translator, born on May 19, 1931 in Ljungby, Småland and died on March 28, 2023 in Högalid, Stockholm, Uppland. She attracted attention for her partly autobiographical youth books. She also wrote adult books with autobiographical elements. Her biography of Astrid Lindgren was published in 1977. From 1969 to 1985, Strömstedt worked as a producer at Sveriges Radio and Sveriges Television's TV2. She received the Gulliver Prize, the Astrid Lindgren Prize and Expressen's Heffaklump, among others. Margareta Strömstedt was married to Bo Strömstedt from 1953 until his death in 2016. The couple's children are Niklas Strömstedt and Lotten Strömstedt.
