Bjørn Woll

Norwegian violinist, conductor, and composer, 1927-1996. Employed at Filharmonisk Selskaps Orkester (former name of Oslo Filharmoniske Orkester) between 1946 and 1963, while at the same time being active as a movie composer, as well as a session musician on a number of recordings. In 1963 he took over as conductor and leader of Stavanger Symfoniorkester and as leader of Stavangerensemblet (2), a position he held until 1989 (the ensemble was merged into the symphony orchestra in 1970).
