Jan Sjöblom

Swedish jazz musician, pianist, born March 14, 1939 in Sundsvall. Started playing with local dance and jazz bands in Sundsvall. With a piano pedagogy degree from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, he started working as a piano teacher in the music department at Birkagården's folk high school in the same city. For 10 years he has taught at the Academy of Music in piano, composition, rhythm, ear theory. In classical music he has freelanced for many years. However, some "permanent" jobs have been created; Lill-Arne Söderberg in the 50s and at Nalen during the years 1963-1966 and was also part of the accompaniment group permanently employed at Nalen in Cabaret Harlem. During the years 1979-1982, he was first included as a regular pianist in the Swedish Jazz Band.
