Flossy Frills

Flossy Frills was a cartoon character featured in the Sunday edition of the "American Standard", a Hearst newspaper. Flossy shares writing credits with Ben Lorre (actually the sole composer) on the 1942 Glenn Miller song "Knit One, Purl Two". That song was supposed to promote Flossy's (or rather Randolph Hearst's) contribution to the war effort, Flossy Frill knitting clubs engaged in knitting sweaters and scarves for servicemen.
