Campbell began his musical career in Chicago, Ill., at the age of 3 by banging on his mom's pots. As a 4-year-old, he played in church for the first time and grew up in the city's gospel music scene. In 1998, Campbell relocated to California and has served as musical director and drummer for artists that include Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, 98 Degrees, Deborah Cox, Kelly Price, Mary Mary. He has recorded with Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Rod Stewart and Kelly Clarkson. Campbell has also hit the road touring with Bette Midler, The Backstreet Boys, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Queen Latifah and George Benson, among others. Campbell's television credits include "American Idol," "The Grammy Awards," "The NAACP Image Awards," "The Billboard Awards," "VH-1 Divas" and "VH-1 Save the Music." In addition, Campbell stays true to his roots by fronting his own gospel group, the Soul Seekers, in which he performs as the lead singer. The Soul Seekers won a 2006 Stellar Award for Quarter Group of the Year, the highest achievement in gospel music. Drummer Teddy Campbell joined "The Tonight Show Band" under the musical direction of Rickey Minor in 2010. Campbell lives in Los Angeles Married Mary Mary singer Tina Campbell in 2000
