Paul Collin (2)

(1843–1915) — French poet, writer, translator and librettist Collin wrote libretti and song lyrics for a number of operas and cantatas, collaborating with well-known composers such as Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky used poems by Collin for four of the six songs of his 1888 song cycle "Six French Songs" (Op. 65). In 1881, he and the composer Marie Grandval won the inaugural Prix Rossini for their oratorio "La Fille de Jaïre."
