The multifaceted Italian musician Vena (born Vincenzo Ingraldo), founding member of God In Panic, reveals his creativity outlining a refined style. Distinctive features of his early productions are transparency and roundness of sounds, which combine "kaleidoscopic experiences of inner restlessness drawing deviant and hallucinatory creatures". In the early 1990s, he played as a guitarist in several local rock bands, performing in considerable music contests and producing some remarkable demo-tapes. Mainly influenced by David Bowie, Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley, as well as by Joy Division and Bauhaus and later by apocalyptic folk artists such as Current 93, Sol Invictus and Death in June, he started dedicating himself with a fiery passion to his own artistic productions and songwriting, developing a unique brand. Sophisticated musical frameworks started taking shape in his former post-rock projects Gula Mons (2007) and Der Fluß (2009), until reaching a higher expression and maturity in his last experimental project God In Panic, founded in 2010. The sound of God In Panic is intense and delicately tormented. Alienating and slightly distressing industrial beats over classical guitar elegies, charming melodies over the cold disguise of noisy machines, skilfully manipulated by electronic music expedients. The soundscapes are grey, introspective, deep and thinly disturbing, blending modulations obtained by twisting metal sheets, gently suffering neofolk school arpeggios and the elegance of darkwave.
