Francis "Freckles" Lyons

American Hawaiian guitarist. Born on January 4, 1909, in Maui, Hawaii. Died on September 1, 1960, in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the age of 51. He teamed up with his brother "Splash" Lyons to entertain Waikiki in the 1950s. “Freckles” played the guitar, while “Splash” played the ukulele and steel guitar. When the two brothers made records, they concealed the fact that their respective trios, “Freckles Lyons & his Beachboys”, and “Splash Lyons & his Hawaiians” were actually the same group. Freckles Lyons was also as a surfer; one of the historical members of those who call themselves the "Waikiki Beachboys" and who work for tourists as beach attendants and surf teachers.
