Velino M. Preza

Velino Miguel Preza Castro, Mexican conductor, violinist and composer. He was born in Durango, Durango, Mexico in 1866 and died in Mexico City on December 15, 1944. In 1900 he was appointed director of the Banda de Zapadores, in 1904 he received the position of interim director of the Banda de Música del Estado Mayor Presidencial, then he directed, as headline, the Banda de Música de la Policía de la Ciudad de México (1904 -1914; 1920-1943), with which he had performances in various cities of the Republic, in the United States, Cuba and South America.
