Regents (3)

The Regents is the Barbershop Harmony Society's 1974 International Quartet Champion. First formed in 1967 and after a few personnel changes they won the Mid-Atlantic District Championship in 1972 with Harry Williamson on tenor, Joe Mazzone on lead, Ron Knickerbocker on baritone, and Hal Kaufman on bass. They first medaled in 1972 and won the gold in 1974. They won the gold by a 439 point margin. They released two recordings during their time singing together as well as a compilation CD in the late 90’s. Harry Williamson was replaced by Ralph Childs as tenor in 1976. They first retired in 1977 but came out of retirement in the late 80’s for a couple of years with Harry back in the tenor slot. Today only Ron Knickerbocker survives.
