Charlie Thorpe

Charlie is a Melbourne based singer and songwriter, and also a practising visual artist. Born Polish/Australian, Charlie is powerfully feminine with elegance that transcends through all her works. Through high school she was singing and writing music, and formed Dash & Will before signing to record label Universal Australia. Over the next few years the band supported artists such as The Kooks, Ben Lee, The Ting Tings, Faker, Van She and Justin Bieber to name a few. Prior to going solo she performed at festivals such as The Falls festival, Homebake, SXSW (US), and has been a return guest on Australian TV music quiz shows "Spicks and Specks" and "RocKwiz". In 2011 Dash & Will disbanded and Charlie proceeded to drop out of the music industry for a few years, in which time her love of writing music and singing once again became her focus. Charlie started recording her works as a solo artist, not wanting to rush into the fast industry. Her primary goal was to continue creating and playing her music. Charlie’s soulful musical style is swimming in the world of alt pop, with a vintage element to her sound and appearance. Although young, there is a maturity and strength to Charlie, which is evident through her songwriting and vocals.
