Lee Hanson

Barbershop bass vocalist and radio operator. Born on April 20, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN. Lee worked in the broadcasting industry for many years. Lee was the General Manager for WKBD-TV Channel 50, WQRS-FM, and WNIC in Detroit. He also worked as the owner/operator of WPHM/WBIT/WHYT radio stations. Lee was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 42 years and sang in a total of nine quartets. Two of his most notable are Center Stage and the Spellbinders. He earned three silver medals with Center Stage in the international quartet contest. Lee died on November 12, 2015 at the age of 84 after a battle with cancer.
