Vaudeville performer, violinist, vocalist, bandleader, and songwriter, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He performed in vaudeville with his wife Ada Burt in the 1910s and 1920s, and was well-known in the B. F. Keith Circuit. In 1922, he performed with Paul Whiteman. He led various orchestras, including Al Burt's (Dance) Orchestra, the Blue Bird Dance Orchestra, and Al Burt's Entertainers (1924, backing Baby Edna Keir). Burt likely died circa 1924–1925. The last concert ads are from 1924, plus Ada Burt remarried in 1925, and an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer about the marriage states that she is "a widow of Al Burt, of Philadelphia, an orchestra leader."
