Julian Romeike

German DJ, producer, composer, and engineer. Born: 13 May 1978. Romeike (aka DJ Mzuzu) started as a musician when he was 7 years old playing violoncello. He soon played guitar and bass, leading to playing in bands, and making compositions. He worked for the label Légère Recordings where he produced a few reissues and released a lot of his recordings. He composed and produced for Jay W. McGee's album "" (2015), which went number 5 in the UK soul charts that year. He's played guitar in these bands: Groovealliance, Karamala, Funknastico, Superbad, Mothertune, Urban Organic Show Band, Pitch & Scratch, The Unbelievable Two. Being part of the production team The Unbelievable Two, he still works on new releases. As a vinyl-loving funk DJ since 1997, he has played regular nights at clubnights Le Fonque and The Funk Boutique at the Hafenklang in Hamburg. He's also shared decks with: Polyrhythm, The Jan, Keb Darge, Florian Keller, Henry Storch, Mr. Mellow, Calamity Jade, Funkfreakz, Satenga, Yashmak, Wedding Soul Kollectiv, Suro, Marius No. 1, From Here To Funk, Soul Rabbi, Soul Professor, Alfredo Maddaloni, Mr. Smith, The Fonque crew, et al.
