The Breakers were first formed in 1979 by Michael Lacock and Cliff Burr who were both original members of the acoustic group "Buck Royce Rye". In 1980 larry Leithem also an original member of "Buck Royce Rye" had rejoined the band in ts new format. John Arducer on lead guitar joined the band in mid 1980. By early 1981 The Breakers had become a fixture on LA's local club scene with shows at the Whiskey, Troubadour, Starwood, Madame Wong's West and East, The Bla Bla Café, Club Lingerie, Club 88, and The Ice House to name a few. In late 1981 George Nardo had replaced the departing John Arducer on lead guitar as The Breakers began working the college concert circuit with shows at UCLA, Cal State Fresno, Cal Tech and more.In mid 1982 the band continued playing local clubs, college shows and a small interstate tour as a three piece with Michael Lacock, Cliff Burr and Larry Leithem. In late 1982, Ric Bytnar joined the band as Larry Leithem departed. The band remained a three piece with Ric on guitar, Michael on bass and Cliff on drums. By early 1983, Cliff had left the band and was replaced by David Kendrick on drums and Jim Goodwin on keyboards. In late 1983 they broke up. The anthology "Now The Past and Way Past" is all that remains
