Ludolf Waldmann

German singer, theater director, actor, poet, and composer in the field of popular music. (30 June, 1840, Hamburg or Wrocław - † 7 February, 1919 in Berlin ) He composed many popular and patriotic songs, many of whose lyrics he wrote himself, and he was well known around the turn of the century. Some of his songs, such "Fischerin, Du Kleine" (The little fisher maid), or "Wer weiss ob wir uns wiedersehn" (Who knows, When we ever meet again) appeared in the 1880s in the United States. His most famous work was the 1905 text of the Nobel Prize winner "I greet you, my beautiful Sorrento" (with Paul Heyse).
