"Kalinka" is a stage ensemble of the Belarusian folk song. Established in 2002, but adopted its current stage form in 2008, on the initiative of the leader Mariusz Choruży. The group consists of 8 people (6 girls, group leader and instrumentalist), but they are often supported by two instrumentalists. The band performs songs primarily in Belarusian, but also in Ukrainian, Russian and Polish. Half of his repertoire are known folk songs, the rest are original works. The music of "Kalinka" is maintained in a modern convention. Contemporary sound, enriched with ethnic instruments and thrilling dance arrangements attract young listeners. The group's music program, however, is mostly based on classical Belarusian, Ukrainian and Russian folklore, which makes it equally attractive to the older generation. From the very beginning the band has been winning awards, when in January 2008 they take part in the Belarusian Song Festival in Bialystok. The performance is a success, because "Kalinka" takes first place in its category. In Podlasie, the band is getting louder and louder, it gives dozens of concerts that enjoy great interest and is gaining more and more fans. In 2009, the group once again takes first place at the Belarusian Song Festival in Bialystok. The radio station starts to sound the music of "Kalinka" which results in a large number of concerts both in Poland and abroad. In May 2009, the first album of the band "Kalinka" was released. "Why don't you sting me?" In December 2010, Kalinka recorded another album, this time with carols. The stage group, in subsequent years of artistic work proves that it belongs to the top of the Belarusian stage ensembles in Poland. In February 2010, 2011, 2012 for the third, fourth and fifth time in a row receives the first place at the National Belarusian Song Festival in Bialystok. In December 2012, the third, in typical for the band, dance and entertainment musical climates was released, "A na hory ...". Also in December 2012, another CD with Christmas carols appeared.
