Monastyr (2)

Polish vocal-instrumental band with a fluid line-up, active in 1973-1978 in Ciechanów. The leader and founder of the group was Waldemar Koperkiewicz (guitar, vocals, compositions). In 1973-1975 Marek Piekarczyk sang in the band... Monastyr he was winner of many song festivals, participant of the "Debuts" concert at the National Festival of Polish Songs in Opole (1977). In 1978 the group recorded a single, released in 1980 by the Tonpress label (S-252) with the songs "Ten, kto wie" (music: W. Koperkiewicz, lyrics: A. Bernat) and the timeless evergreen "Rzeki snu" (music: W. Koperkiewicz, lyrics: M. Grala). In 1996, the song was reminded by Magdalena Turowska, a singing duet with Jarosław Wasik.
