American musical director, arranger, producer, songwriter and performer who never considered a nine-to-five job. At the age of 19 he was invited to tour and record with Cameo as the groups’ keyboard player. Two years later, Wayne Newton asked Stern to tour and perform with Newton in Las Vegas. In 1983, he joined Lionel Richie as his keyboard player and soon became Richie's musical director for 17 years. Randy has written songs for Air Supply, Kenny Rogers and the Disney Home Video Logo. He composed movie trailers, TV spots and infomercials as well. As a performer, Randy has worked with Elton John, Eric Clapton, Stevie Nicks, Vanessa Williams, Tina Turner, Don Henley, Sheila E, Natalie Cole, Seal, Richard Marx, The Pointer Sisters, David Foster, Jewel, Brian McKnight and others. Television appearances include the Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Tonight Show with Jay Leno, David Letterman, Saturday Night Live, and the Olympics Closing Ceremony. Stern has maintained his own recording studio for over 25 years.
