Black October

English alternative / goth rock band from Haywards Heath, Sussex. Formed in early 1985 by Nick Brinton, Neil Hayes (guitar) and Nick Smith, they were joined by Alan Tampion and Richard Thompson. Andy Smith briefly took over on drums from Brinton, Smith had played in a group called Offenders C.R.S. with Alan Tampion. Alan's brother Mark joined the group on backing vocals, he took over on bass when Nick Smith left the group. Their original lead guitarist, Neil Hayes, became their manager. The group changed its name to Third Generation (3) circa 1987.
