In 1969 Chico Ché founded the group La Crisis together with the saxophonist Eugenio Flores. In the 70s he recorded his first LP containing the songs "Derrumbaron El Puente", "La Espinita", "El Pato Y Paraíso". Some members along with Chico Ché continued knocking on doors until they met with music promoter Jesús González del Callejo, who recommended that they use a name that reflects the Mexican popular reality. It was in 1972 that, with the entry of President Luis Echeverría throughout Mexico, a rumor spread that a serious economic crisis would arrive in the country. At this news, Chico Ché and his friends decided to adopt the name "La Crisis". He died on March 29, 1989, at 43 years of age as a result of a stroke.
