Fran Serafin Vilhar

Slovene/Croatian composer, pianist, organist and choir leader. Born January 5, 1852, in Senožeče, today's Republic of Slovenia, died March 4, 1928, in Zagreb, today's Republic of Croatia. Organ studies finished in Prague. He was active in Croatia and was dedicated to the development of local music, so in his works he also included Croatian folk songs. Besides other works, he composed several operettas and operas, all of which bear Croatian titles.
