Danish theater enthusiast and sound engineer, 1907-1994. Knud Hegermann-Lindencrone and his assistant, engineer Villy Bak, made sound recordings from the Copenhagen theater scenes from the years 1948-1988. In total, 1,700 hours of performances from The Royal Danish Theatre (Det Kongelige Teater) and 1,000 hours of performances from the private theaters in Copenhagen have been preserved, spread over 3,300 reel-to-reel tapes. In 1990, the tape collection was handed over to The Royal Danish Theatre and placed at The Royal Library (Det Kgl. Bibliotek). All the tapes have been digitised. Several recordings have previously been released on LP. From 1998 CDs are released first on Naxos and then on Classico. Knud Hegermann-Lindencrone lived an aristocratic existence without bourgeois occupation. His uncle was Cai Hegermann-Lindencrone, who in the early 1940s was director of The Royal Danish Theatre. Furthermore, as one of Chamberlain Berling's descendants, Knud Hegermann-Lindencrone represented the family on the board of the newspaper Berlingske Tidende.
