Hans Brachrogge

Hans Brachrogge, Giovanni Brachrogge, d. 1638, was a Danish singer and composer at Christian IV's court. Brachrogge entered the kantori as a boy, where, after a stay in Italy 1602–04, he was apprenticed to the court organist Melchior Borchgrevink and, after the end of the apprenticeship in 1611, was commissioned as a musician (singer). The next year he was sent to London (with Mogens Pedersøn, among others). After his return to Denmark Brachrogge published Madrigaletti a 3 voci. Libro primo. Novamente composti etc in 1619, containing nineteen 3-part movements by Brachrogge and two by Mogens Pedersøn.
