Mario Mercier was a country singer, writer and composer born in Thetford Mines, Canada. He started playing music at 7 years old, inspired by his father who played the violin. A versatile musician, he played the piano, guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin and accordion He released seven albums and the single "On est ti ben quand on est chaud" with Gaston Lacroix, which is his biggest hit. When he was 17, he played guitar at many events around Thetford Mines and at 20, he started the band Les Aigles Noirs (2) with his brother Rock Mercier. He recorded his first hit "On est ti ben quand on est chaud" in 1980 and he recorded his first album at Studio Denis Champoux in 1994. He released six more albums after that: "Mon P'tit Gars (Que J'Aimais Tant)" in 1999, "Enfant du Divorce", "Chante", "Té Belle Comme Un Coeur" in 2003, "Petite Soeur" in 2005 and "Je Ne Suis Qu'Un Être Humain" in 2007. He died from a stroke in 2012 in Thetford Mines. He was 54 years and 7 months old.
