René Weiss

Note: for the French engineer, use René Weis. Swiss trombonist, born 1900 in Geneva, Switzerland, died August 28, 1984 in the same city. Moved to Berlin c. 1924, played with Marek Weber, Dajos Béla and Ludwig Gluskin among others, recording with Gluskin in 1932. In France he played with Ray Ventura 1931-1936, Guy Paquinet 1934-1935 and others. In 1939 Weiss left France for Switzerland, where he played with Teddy Stauffer and led his own orchestra that recorded in 1942-1943.
