Bergens Munnspillorkester

Harmonica ensemble from Bergen, Norway. Established in the late 1930s by a group of teenagers, aged 14 and up. Active in the 1940s, and sporadically after that. Featured at a very young age people who would later make a name for themselves outside this ensemble: most famously of course Kurt Foss & Reidar Bøe, one of the most popular vocal duos in Norway in the mid-20th century; Leif "Lynet" Nygård would become a jazz bassist; and Stein Johnson a famous sports personality.
