Об исполнителе:
José Moriche was a Spanish singer born on August 31, 1890 in Burguillos del Cerro (Badajoz), Spain. José Moriche made his debut at the Teatro Real in Madrid in 1918, obtaining a resounding success with “El Barbero de Sevilla”. José Rabanal Santander affirms that Moriche lived in Barcelona, from where we suppose he would travel to his hometown and Badajoz. He soon formed an opera company and embarked for Cuba where apparently things should not have gone very well. It is at that moment when he decides to sing alone or in a duet, obtaining a resounding success that forces him to travel throughout the southern cone, recording for the best record companies. He performed in Mexico and Cuba, and then in New York where he is called upon to record popular songs. In 1923 he began recordings in the company of the Colombian Víctor Justiniano Rosales, for the Gennett label, then he made duets from 1925 with Antonio Utrera, Margarita Cueto, Arturo Patiño, Juan Pulido, Rodolfo Hoyos, Pilar Arcos, and Laura Magaña among others. Moriche recorded on labels such as Victor, Brunswick and Columbia. One of the most famous duos was the one formed with Guty Cárdenas. In the last years of his life, Moriche set up a restaurant on Long Island, and there he used to perform romances, operatic arias, and heartfelt folk songs while serving the clientele. Moriche's fame was so great that he was selected to accompany Carlos Gardel in the movie “El Tango en Broadway” as an actor, with a prominent role. José Moriche became a kind of myth. All attempts to know how the days of that tenor ended have been useless.
