Robert Sylvester Reed Sr. was born on September, 14, 1927 to the late Ola Mae and Elijah Reed in Tyler, Texas. He died on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Robert, “Bob” attended high school in Los Angeles, CA and later joined the United States Army serving in Korea with an honorable discharge in 1954. While in the military he enjoyed cooking for the troops. He continued to cook and bake until his health declined. During his time in the military he became interested in playing the guitar; this eventually led him to form the “Bob Reed Orchestra”. Playing the blues he accompanied such artist as Etta James. Working with his father at early age Bob learned the trade of plastering and construction which ultimately led to forming his own company, “World Plastering”. His clientele included many Hollywood celebrities.
