Alain Mpela Yoka is a Congolese artist born in Kinshasa in 1971, he comes from a family of eight children. Revealed in the Wenge Musica orchestra he later split up to choose J.B. Mpiana's wing in 1998. Also called "Afande" he was promoted to conductor until his departure to found his own orchestra called Generation A. When in 1990 he self-taught his state diploma in Commercial and Administrative Sciences at the Institut de la Victoire, Alain Mpela was already passionate about music. Taking advantage of his group's first tour in Belgium, he enrolled in the “Ecole Supérieure de Comptabilité”, ESC, in Brussels just to find that “music was a handicap for my studies”, as he often confides. . Afandé, as her supporters call, the eldest of a large family, was influenced by her, starting with her father who played classical music. Jean-Robert Yoka Mpela used to devote part of his time to singing hymns with his children, as soon as he found himself at home.
